Calvary Chapel has been formed as an independent body of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Our supreme desire is to know and love Christ and be conformed to His image; and to love and serve one another as a manifestation of His love in our lives. Our aim, in an atmosphere of grace, is to build a community of believers who are grounded in God’s Word, doctrinally sound, and genuinely loving, so we might live radical, biblically authentic lives, in our homes, our church, and our community thereby impacting our culture and the world for Jesus Christ.

By the Grace and Mercy of God we seek to do this through an unwavering commitment to the gospel, expositional teaching, genuine love and compassion, and biblical discipleship. We believe this to be our highest privilege and most important priority in every area of ministry.

Pastor Jim was called and ordained into the ministry in 1991. Prior to full-time ministry, Jim spent a few years in Law Enforcement and ten years as a partner in an Agribusiness. Following his ordination, Pastor Jim served for three years in three different ministries, one in Texas and two in Northern California.  In 1994 by God’s mercy and grace, with a small group of people who had been meeting in a Home Bible Study, he planted Calvary Chapel Redding, in Redding, Ca. 

Pastor Jim is committed to the expository preaching of God’s Word because of his firm belief that it is the most glorifying to God and because the Scriptures are able to make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Tim. 3:15).  Pastor Jim is heard weekdays, locally, and in the far Northern California and Southern Oregon areas on “Growing in the Word” the radio outreach ministry of Calvary Chapel Redding.
